Laws on the Ballot: Ballot Measure Advocacy for Nonprofits

When: Thursday, July 14th 2:00PM ET, 11:00AM PT

There are a number of ways nonprofits can work on ballot measures – including taking a stand for or against them. Learn about strategies and benefits for engaging the public around ballot measures, how to determine spending limits, the 501h election, the difference between direct and grassroots lobbying and more.

Featured Speaker: Abby Levine is Legal Director of the Bolder Advocacy initiative at Alliance for Justice.  Abby provides legal guidance that encourages grantmakers to support advocacy and other nonprofit organizations to participate in policymaking decisions through an understanding of federal tax and election law.  Abby’s work includes creating curriculum, teaching workshops, providing technical assistance, writing plain-language legal guides, and describing federal legislative and regulatory developments that impact nonprofits.
